The blog thing again

I say "again" because this is my second attempt at a blog. Hopefully this time it'll last a bit longer than my previous attempt. I'm sure I would have kept posting at the old blog if people actually visited the thing. Oh well, sometimes the second attempt is better than the first (right?).

I'll post lots of off-topic material here; stuff that just doesn't fit on the site.

Gord

I know I'll be checking this out on a regular basis. After getting to meet and chat with you in HI and having followed the site for a long time, I'm sure your posts here are going to be uber-interesting.

I think you're off to a great start.

tvshowsondvd.com is one of the only websites that I make sure I check every day, so now I'll be checking out this blog too!

Ah, Mike! You're the first to comment on the blog :D

For those that don't know, Mike and I met up at the Lost season 1 DVD launch in Hawaii. We had some good times sipping Mai Tai's with all the Disney people.

I haven't visited TVShowsOnDVD much since the RSS feed suddenly vanished, but at least I can add this blog to Bloglines!

jasond,
Don't forget about Dave! He does an excellent job with the news EVERY day. The last time we didn't have news up was waaaay back in October, 2003. He even takes time out of his day during holidays to make sure there's something posted to the site. Dave rocks!

Patrick,
My favorite shows....hmmm....I'm way too heavily influenced by what I recently watched. With that said, I'm really enjoying "Battlestar Galactica." There's something about that show....I think it may be the situation they're in, and how Ron Moore conveys the stress that they're under. They're fleeing for their lives, and they aren't going to get any help. The emotions flow from the screen; it's quite amazing. I'd have to say it's one of my favorite shows on right now.

I check tvshowsondvd.com every day, so I'm sure I'll be checking this blog often, too. Wish I'd known about your previous blog. I would have read it!

You can read the previous blog here:

Not a whole lot to read, but I did blog about a trip to LA; the first TV-DVD conference.

re: "What would you like to see released on dvd?"

Patrick, Gord's GETTING his wish! He's got Brisco County on the way, the one show he had in the back of his mind when he started this site! You do realize that once it comes out, the site all goes downhill from there? Just kidding, Gord.

Beside, I won't let Gord pack it up until I get WKRP, the original Tick, and the rest of Hulk and Married with Children. :P

Well, not totally true, Dave. I wanted "Kids in the Hall" and "Family Guy" on DVD, and that's why I started the site. "Brisco" came a bit later, but it's one I've been fighting to see released for about 2 years. I'm glad it's coming out :D

Great idea to complement the website, Dave and Gord.

I check TVShowsOnDVD on a daily basis. TV Shows are slowly but surely becoming the staple of my DVD collection.

I visit your site everyday -sometimes twice. I rely on you because I work for Borders and there are always people asking when this or that is coming out. I see it as great customer service when I can answer their questions. I also usually tell them to visit this site, because, well it's always the best (next to the digital bits). Now, I have to add another blog to a list at which I visit. It's growing day by day, this list (which I've had to split between the naughty gay ones and the movie/tv/scifi/dvd ones. Its a challenge NOT to get them mixed up)

David and Gord,

I'm sure we all have those favorites we'd eventually like to see put on dvd. Hill Street Blues was mine for awhile. Now it's the second through eigth seasons of Barney Miller. Just out of curiosity, do either of you know when the third season of Once and Again is to be rescheduled?

Sorry Patrick, no word on that one yet.

I think we're going to try and keep the blog free of questions about releases; this is meant more for off-topic stuff. Feel free to email us with questions though.

Hey Gord

just wanted to say thanks for your site, you've answered a few of my questions from Sydney. You provide a great service, although you are evil and totally responsible for my ailing bank balance. *g*

Merry Christmas, and have a great 2006.

Karen
