Second Life?

So, has anyone here tried "Second Life"? It's massive world where people hang out, do things, own land, buy stuff....it's crazy. I just signed up the other day (for FREE), and I'm exploring the place. I can't believe some of the stuff I've seen in there.

Try it out - http://www.secondlife.com - and look for me as "Krolik Taka" on there.

Yeah, it's hard not to stumble upon a sex club, but there are lots of neat things to see there.

CNN/Reuters report: Second Life lets slip real-world user data

Uh-oh....there goes your credit card info, Gordie!!

All of you better read up on that story, and make sure your real-world identity is safe.

That's the cool part about SL - I haven't paid anything, so they don't have my CC. You only have to give it to them if you go for a paid membership, which I haven't. They also emailed everyone about their accounts long before the news got out to the press. I think they only have my name, email address (which is one I hardly use), and my userID/password on their server. Not a big deal.

I've been on SL for nearly a year. It's a fun place to meet friends and just hang out. I avoid all the sex activity and what not. I think shopping in sl is neater than shopping in real life.
