It's our birthday - help celebrate!

We just turned 5 today, and we're asking you guys to come to the (virtual) party. Later today we'd like you to put your favorite (or one of your favorite) TV-DVD sets in your player and watch an episode or two. When you're done come to this thread and create a post letting others know what you watched.

Hmmm....now I have to pick a set to watch....

Gord

Update: I decided it was easier for me to post in the initial item than have it lost in the comments.

Wow, I was SHOCKED when I came here and saw over 100 comments on this item. Wow.

I took a trip down memory lane with my viewings yesterday. Here's what I watched, and why...

Simpsons Season 1, EP 1 - This was the first TV show on DVD I bought.

Twin Peaks Season 1, EP 1 (not the pilot) - This was the first DVD set I received from a studio

X-Files Season 1, EP 1 - How could I honor our favorite hobby and not watch the pilot of The X-Files, the very first season set released?

Lost Season 1, EP 1 - This is one of the best DVD sets I've ever seen, and I looooove the pilot episode. I don't know how many times I've seen that opening scene, but it's a lot.

So, now you know what I watched before going to watch my Edmonton Oilers play a pathetic hockey game (yup, we lost).

Anyway, I just recently finished watching the whole season of Survivor-Palau even though I saw every episode when it was on TV. I love that show and can't wait for all of the season to be released! Vanuatu is next!

I just finished a David Sutcliffe aka Christopher Hayden marathan of Gilmore Girls. The last new show said his divorce was final, but I couldn't remember when he supposedly married Sherry. If he did I must have been 'off-air' during his season 4 hiatus (David had his own show for one season.)

Anyway, that's one of the best reasons for having your favorite shows on DVD - to create your own marathan theme!!

Happy Birthday.

I check out your news pages many times a day in search of the latest sci-fi related releases. You can imagine I was very pleased to read about the forthcoming season 1 release of 'Beauty and the Beast' :-)
Let's hope that many more fine TV shows will finally get the DVD release they deserve, thanks to your unique voting system. Keep up the good work and thanks for all your hard labour over the past 5 years. Happy Birthday to a great site! Thanks for all your help in providing release information which helps us obtain our favorite TV Shows on DVD for the past 5 years! Started re-watching all of Stargate SG-1 in chronological order. As of today I am at the end of Season 3, having just watched the episodes entitled "A Hundred Days" and "Shades Of Gray", which are episodes 317 and 318, and are two of the best of the entire series. Both really showcase Richard Dean Anderson's talents as the fine actor he is. Fast approaching the Third Season cliffhanger entitled "Nemesis", which together with it's Season 4 opener/conclusion, is the beginning of the best of the series with the episodes to follow in Season's 4 and 5. Can't wait for the final 10 episodes of the series to air next January! I just hope the final episode will be all that the fans will want.

Happy Birthday, guys! Your website has been huge in helping me locate some of my favorite TV shows.

I'm currently going through "Good Morning World!" It's what the Dick Van Dyke Show would have been in color.

Later I'll be starting on the first 2 seasons of the Abbott and Costello Show from the 100th Aniv. sets.

Plus I've got on a nother player "My Favorite Martian".

I'm looking forward to the 4th installment of the Looney Tunes collection, and plan to get the Dick Van Dyke Show complete series set over the holidays.

Hope you guys continue the website until every TV show has reached DVD. I guess that would mean forever.

I started a month-long marathon today which will be composed of all westerns. It will be a combination of movies and TV shows. I am on vacation, cats sitting for the girlfriend who is visiting family, in New Orleans.

Over the last couple of days I have watched...

Rip Tide season 1 - Boz nd his computer stuff is pretty funny. I hope Sony puts seasons 2&3 out.

Superman TAS season 3 - First Animated Legion of Superheroes.

Sports Night complete series - People over at TV-Guide claim to love Sports Night and hate Studio 60 and I just don't understand.

The 1st episode of Threshold - Watched this the night before the girlfriend got on the plane, because she thought Night Stalker might be a bit too scary to dream about.

The first 5 episodes of Filmation's Flash Gordon - I am soooo impressed with the work that BCI is doing on their sets. I have the Blackstar, Space Sentinels, Prince Valiant and the V/A set with Beetle Baily, Snuffy Smith and Cool McCool. I intend to get everything they release.

And I just finished watching season 8 of StarGate SG1 - Season 8 was were I started watching Stargate again after dropping Showtime after season 2. Since that was pre-DVR for me, I had missed quite a few, and the show is sooo much better after watching the previous seasons.

Happy Birthday TVShowsonDVD.com!!!

Keep up the good work.

How about getting us Tales of the Gold Monkey. 1982 22 episodes. Donald P. Bellisario. 3 Double sided discs.

And some Hanna Barbera Super Adventure stuff. So far only the first season of Jonny Quest and the Impossibles.

Felicitations! It's a great web site and it sure is nice to have the Canadian info.

I just finished watching season 2 of "Roswell" (it's my first viewing). It's so strange to see that show evolve from season 1 to 2, or even the changes that occured within season 2 itself.

I'm looking foward to many other thousands hours of tv show on dvd fun. And thanks to you, i know when to look out for my favorites.

Congrats again on a great site! I 'celebrated' today by watching the last few episodes of The Prisoner ... but I don't own them. I rented them; another great way to take advantage of DVD releases of TV series.

Yes, I've also fallen into the more expensive hobby of owning such DVDs (just got Season 5 of Kids in the Hall, you'll be glad to know), but renting is also noteworthy. In fact, using Zip.ca (a Canadian equivalent of Netflix) is a great alternative to paying a cable bill each month!

Thanks to TV DVD rentals, I've also watched such series as Invader Zim, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, the new Battlestar Galactica and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

It's not always easy to find TV DVDs in rental stores, which is where online rentals have been a true boon.

Anyway, my buying days aren't over yet. I'm still collecting a few series, including Samurai Jack, The Simpsons and Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist.

Thanks again for a great site!

Lately I have been watching the Daniel Boone Season 1 and Season 2 sets. It's amazing how great television was 30, 40 years ago!!!

Happy Anniversary!

I love your site, you guys do an excellent job on it. I never wanted to buy any TV series on DVD until I saw the Battlestar Galactica OS set with the Cylon head packaging and list of extras. My first purchase, however, was Futurama Vol. 1, since I didn't want to send a large sum of money to a site that I never ordered from before. I now have about 60 series sets and climbing. I'm currently watching Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea: Season 2, Vol. 1 and rewatching Wonder Woman Season 2.

Happy Birthday! Watched Dukes Of Hazzard, Married...With Children, and Twilight Zone. Love your alterations list because I hate buying shows that aren't the original broadcast versions. Please, let us know right away if The Wonder Years ever comes to DVD. Love that show! Thanks, and keep up the good work. Bye for now!

Hi Guys!
This is my much belated birthday viewing in your honour. "The Yogi Bear Show" - The Complete Series - Episode 13 "Happy Birthdaze"; and "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman" - The Complete Season One - Episode 12 "Happy Birthday". "Dr. Quinn" is a timeless classic. I came away from the tv screen once again feeling gobsmacked, and uttering those words..."I LOVE THIS SHOW".

Happy belated birthday! I'd be lost without your site -- the automatic emails on shows I've voted for plus the "DVDs I Want" feature ensure that I don't miss any releases of the shows I collect. Plus it makes it super-easy to support the site by using your Amazon links.

As for what I watched to celebrate... I've got all my DVDs in space-saving Dacal libraries and over the years I've accumulated many DVDs I haven't watched yet. So I recently started from library 1, disc 1, and am watching them all in order. Right now I'm near the end of Futurama. Next: The Pallisers. And about four years from now: the DVDs I bought today.

Congratulations on five years as the primo TV on DVD site! FYI: When I go shopping for a new release and Clerk Clueless says "I don't think that's on DVD." I say: "Yes it is. According to TV Shows on DVD, it was released today." I then clue them in to your address so that they can keep up on what shows are out or soon to be released.

So, good on ya and thanks for all the valuable info over the years. BTW: I watched The Rockford Files.

Well, sorry to say I wasn't thinking about it at the time, but I've been re-watching all of Stargate SG-1. Since I only got a real job this summer, I got to pick up the first 4 seasons in the new slimline cases! If only we could get replacement options on the old packaging now...
